Researchers suggest an individual should get a price quote from at least three companies. A standard and basic security system usually cost between $1,500 and $2,000. Installation of a monitoring service is also vital because it will allow the police to arrive at the home when an alarm has been activated.
Security monitors sell in the area of $20 to $50 per month, and $10 to $30 more if the family or individual decides to purchase a cellular backup. The use of a cellular backup allows a distress signal to be sent in the possibility the phone lines have been cut. Compare and consult with various companies to see if discounts are offered based on specific needs.
National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association
As mentioned above, when considering the option of home security, it's important to make consultations. Consult with friends, neighbors and work associates about his or her personal experience with various companies.
